Local kids ball out at AWC winter camp, high school sports back into full swing

YUMA, Ariz., (KYMA, KECY) - Over 60 local kids hit the floor over the last two days to learn and interact with the Arizona Western College men's basketball team in its annual winter camp.

Meanwhile, high school sports picked back up into gear after the winter break with several teams taking the field and court.

A good day for Yuma Catholic who won all four of their meetings Tuesday - both boys and girls soccer teams beating St. John Paul II, as both boys and girls basketball teams take care of business at Odyssey Institute.

Antelope boys soccer and Cibola girls soccer each take tight losses at home.

Calexico girls basketball rolls over Escondido on the road to improve to 9-5, while the Central Lady Spartans take down the Southwest Eagles in a crosstown battle in El Centro.
