Shohei Ohtani jersey sells for more than $2 million, setting record

LOS ANGELES (KYMA) - A Los Angeles Dodgers jersey worn by Shohei Ohtani during the 2025 MLB Tokyo Series opener has sold for more than $2 million, setting a record for the most expensive game-worn baseball jersey of the 21st century.

The jersey sold through an auction on The Realest, drawing a record price for a piece of baseball memorabilia worn by a player during the century.

Ohtani wore the jersey during his first official Major League Baseball game in Japan as the Dodgers opened the 2025 season in Tokyo.

The jersey features Ohtani’s autograph, handwritten inscriptions and the first gold MLB Logoman patch worn in an official game.

The sale adds another milestone to Ohtani’s growing legacy, with the superstar continuing to make history both on and off the field.
