NFL drops fine over Kyle Juszczyk’s ‘juice’ celebration

(CNN, KYMA) - A bizarre controversy in the NFL is over, and it's going to save one player a $15,000 fine.

San Francisco 49ers fullback Kyle Juszczyk celebrated scoring a touchdown a couple weeks ago with a gesture. He made his hand look like a cup and pretended to drink from it.

The NFL called it an imitation of chugging a beer, said it was in poor taste, and slapped a fine on him.

Juszczyk appealed that, saying he's done it tons of times in his 14-year football career and it's meant to simulate drinking a juice box.

The player's nickname is "Juice" as a play on his last name, and Juszczyk said he doesn't drink beer.

A league and players union appeals officer agreed and reversed the penalty.
