Aaron Donald practices with Rams

WOODLAND HILLS, Calif. (KYMA) - Aaron Donald's potential return to the NFL moved one step closer to reality Tuesday as the former Los Angeles Rams star participated in a workout at the team's training camp facility.

According to ESPN and NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport, Donald took to the practice field with the Rams as part of an ongoing process to evaluate how his body responds to football-related workouts after retiring following the 2023 season.

The eight-time First-Team All-Pro and 10-time Pro Bowl defensive tackle reportedly wanted to conduct a workout while wearing a football helmet and utilizing team equipment.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that because the workout took place at the Rams' facility during training camp, the organization was required to report Donald's activity to the NFL.

Donald, widely regarded as one of the greatest defensive players in league history, retired in March 2024 after a decorated 10-year career with the Rams.

During his tenure, he earned three NFL Defensive Player of the Year awards, was selected to the Pro Bowl in every season he played, and helped lead Los Angeles to a victory in Super Bowl LVI.

While no official decision has been made regarding a comeback, Donald's presence at the Rams' facility and continued evaluation process have fueled speculation that the future Hall of Famer could be considering a return to the field.

Donald last appeared in an NFL game during the 2023 season.
