The 17-year veteran becomes just the 102nd player in MLB history to reach the milestone

PITTSBURGH (KYMA) - Freddie Freeman added another milestone to his decorated career Sunday, recording the 2,500th hit of his major league career during the Los Angeles Dodgers' 12-3 victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates.

The hit made Freeman just the 102nd player in Major League Baseball history to reach the 2,500-hit mark. The 17-year veteran is currently the only active player to have achieved the milestone.

Freeman entered the game with a career batting average of .299 while spending time with both the Atlanta Braves and Dodgers.
