Woman wins the Cocodona 250 Ultramarathon in record time

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (CBS, KYMA) - American elite ultramarathon runner Rachel Entrekin made history Wednesday as she became the first woman to finish 1st overall at Cocodona 250 in Flagstaff, Arizona.

The 34-year-old also set a new course record, completing the 250-mile race in 56:09:48. Kilian Korth came in at second place and set a men’s course record of 57:28:36, according to reports.

Footage here shows Entrekin running with a pack of supporters as she makes her way to the finish line. Locals are seen lining the streets to cheer on the athlete.

The clip also includes the moment an emotional Entrekin completes the mammoth race.

"Rachel didn't just come back to Cocodona to win her third title. She came to test her limits and see what's truly possible on this course," the source wrote to Instagram. "Her goal was to go sub-60 hours, and in doing so, she delivered one of the most dominant performances in ultrarunning history."
