NASCAR honors Kyle Busch with Aug. 18 tribute

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (KYMA) - NASCAR is honoring the late Kyle Busch by declaring Aug. 18 “Kyle Busch Day.”

The date, Aug. 18, represents two numbers Busch drove during his NASCAR Cup Series career. Busch won two Cup Series championships driving the No. 18 car before later driving the No. 8 for Richard Childress Racing.

Busch finished his career with a record 234 victories across NASCAR’s top three national series.

He will also be honored at Charlotte Motor Speedway in October.

Busch, 41, died in May after bacterial pneumonia developed into sepsis.
