Australian men’s national soccer team arrives in San Francisco ahead of World Cup

SAN FRANCISCO (NBC, KYMA) - The Australian mens national soccer team arrived at the San Francisco Bay Area airport ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup Cup.

Australia's head coach Tony Popovic led the squad.

The team, named the "Socceroos," are one of two teams that will have the Bay Area as their home region for the duration of the tournament.

Ecuador's team also touched down in Columbus, Ohio. The team is using the Columbus crew's training facilities at Historic Crew Stadium as its home base.

Saudi Arabia's team arrived in Austin, Texas, which will be their base for the World Cup.
