Tracking great conditions into the week

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA) - Sunny skies and a gradual warmup are in store for Yuma and Imperial Counties to start the week, but a weather pattern moving into the Southwest could bring rain chances and cooler temperatures later this week.

After a cooler weekend, temperatures will climb into the upper 80s and near 90°F Monday and Tuesday. Yuma is expected to reach around 89°F both days, while El Centro could hit 90°F.

Winds will remain generally light through Tuesday, although breezier conditions could develop in Yuma by Wednesday. Skies are expected to stay sunny, with highs reaching around 87°F in Yuma and 88 degrees in El Centro.

Overnight lows will remain in the upper 60s in Yuma and the lower to mid-60s in El Centro, keeping mornings relatively comfortable.

Looking ahead, the weather pattern is tracking to change into the Southwest later this week. This could bring a better chance for rainfall across the region, along with the possibility of a few thunderstorms.

The system is also expected to bring a noticeable cooldown after temperatures gradually warm closer to seasonal averages through the middle of the week.

For now, dry weather and warmer temperatures will dominate the start of the week, with rain chances and cooler conditions becoming the focus as we head toward the end of the week.
