Wildcats softball on a playoff mission

Brawley remains in winner's bracket with 2nd playoff win.

SAN DIEGO, Calif., (KYMA, KECY) - Brawley softball is a program playing well at the right time.

Fresh off their Imperial Valley League title, thanks to a late season surge, the Wildcats have taken that momentum into the CIF-San Diego Section Division 1 Playoffs.

After putting down an impressive "play-in" victory at home against Poway, the 6th seeded Cats would have a quick turnaround.

On Wednesday afternoon, Brawley would get a stiff test on the road in a 1st round matchup against 3rd seeded Santana.

Like the many games they played this Spring, the Cats would find a way to win this one, as they take the 6-4 win over the Sultans and remain in the Division 1 winner's bracket.

The Cats will next play their 3rd playoff game in 3 days, as they play another road game in the 2nd round of the tournament.

They'll pay a visit to 2nd seeded San Marcos.

Game time on Thursday is slated for 3:30 in the afternoon.
