Gila Ridge downs Cibola at Coyote Wash

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - The Gila Ridge Hawks made a statement on the course Wednesday, defeating rival Cibola in a boys varsity golf match at Coyote Wash Golf Course in Wellton.

Gila Ridge finished with a team score of 159 (+15), while Cibola came in at 198 (+54). Senior Trent Karvoski led the way for the Hawks with a standout round of 34, two under par, securing medalist honors.

Karvoski’s performance set the tone, with teammates Trent Caudle (41, +5) and Grady Ebert (42, +6) following up to keep the Hawks firmly ahead. Jakub Kallinger also chipped in a 42 to round out the balanced effort.

For Cibola, senior Alanni Garcia paced the Raiders with a 43, while Mason Porter and Ismael Ramirez shot 50 and 52 respectively. Senior Samuel Runyan finished at 53.

The Hawks' depth proved decisive as they cruised past the Raiders in the Region Yuma matchup, adding another win to their strong season start.
