Local golf rivalries on hand at Desert Hills

Cibola wins boys gold meet versus Kofa and San Luis while the Kofa ladies hold off Cibola

YUMA, Ariz, ( KYMA, KECY-TV ) - On Tuesday the the Desert Hills Golf Course, a tri-meet featuring the boys golf teams from Kofa, Cibola and Yuma. Kofa’s Eddie Smith and Yuma’s Parson Sievert led their teams shooting 43 and 41 respectively. Cibola's Jaxon McNeece came out on top shooting a personal best 40. McNeece relied heavily on booming drives to pave his way to victory. Cibola placed first as a team with a score of 185. On the girls side it was Kofa and Cibola in a dual meet also at Desert Hills yesterday. Kofa claimed the top spot shooting a 238, Cibola finished 12 strokes behind with a team score of 250. Kofa's Charlize Anaya earned the top spot with a 51.
