Kofa boys golf have mixed results at Palm Valley

Kings win dual versus St. John Paul II but fall to Desert Edge and Canyon View shortly after

GOODYEAR, Ariz. ( KYMA, KECY-TV ) - The Kofa Kings boys golf team had a nice showing on September 1st at the Palm Valley Golf Club versus host St. John Paul II. Kofa sophomore Edgar Rodriguez won the meet with a solid round of 48, highlighted by a strong putting performance. Sophomore Eddie Smith finished second with a 51 followed by sophomore Josh Buelna's third place finish at 55 on Palm Valley's south course.

This past Tuesday, the Kings were back in Goodyear for a three team event including Desert Edge and Canyon View.

The Kings were highlighted by sophomore Josh Buelna who shot a 50, five strokes better than his round last week on the South Course at Palm Valley. The shot of the day came when Buelna chipped in for birdie on the 8th hole. Josh ended in a tie for 6th. The kings finished 3rd out of 3 teams.
