Dodgers postseason bound for 14th consecutive season

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (KYMA) - The Los Angeles Dodgers have officially secured a spot in the postseason, extending one of the most impressive streaks in Major League Baseball history.

With their playoff berth clinched, the Dodgers have now reached the postseason in 14 consecutive seasons, tying an MLB record for the longest postseason appearance streak.

Los Angeles currently holds the No. 2 seed in the National League with a 91-59 record as the regular season winds down. The Dodgers will close out the year with their current road series against the Cincinnati Reds before returning home for matchups against the San Francisco Giants and San Diego Padres. They will then finish the regular season with a final series in San Francisco.

The MLB postseason begins with the Wild Card Round on Sept. 29. However, if their current position in the National League standings holds through the end of the regular season, the Dodgers would advance directly to the National League Division Series.

The Division Series is scheduled to begin on Oct. 3.
