The Los Angeles Dodgers are your 2025 World Series Champions
TORONTO (KYMA) - The Los Angeles Dodgers have won back-to-back World Series with a 5-4 win over the Toronto Blue Jays Saturday.
It's the ninth championship in franchise history and the first time a team has won consecutive championships since the New York Yankees three-peat in 1998-2000.
It was looking like the game would have different outcome in the ninth inning with the Blue Jays up 4-3 and one out. That was until Miguel Rojas stepped up to the plate and launched a solo home run to tie things up.
Will Smith played the hero with a solo home run in the eleventh inning to seal the game.
Yoshinobu Yamamoto won World Series MVP after a historic performance. Following his Game 2 complete game, Yamamoto started Game 6 last night and, when needed the most, pitched 2 2/3 innings of scoreless baseball Saturday night.
