Former Diamondback and organ donor honored at Saturday’s game

PHOENIX (KYMA, KECY) - A special moment took place at the Arizona Diamondbacks' game on Saturday night, as former Diamondback player and organ donor Jason Conti was honored.

The Diamondbacks hosted their annual "Donate Life Day" at the game. Conti's wife, Carri, threw the ceremonial first pitch as a tribute to her late husband.

Donor Network of Arizona, the state’s center for organ donation, hosted almost 3,000 organ donation supporters.

Conti was a former outfielder for Arizona during the team's inaugural season and he passed away from a stroke back in May.

Because of his donation status, he saved the lives of two people following his death.

If you wish to join the great cause, you can still sign up as an organ donor in Conti's honor by going to donatelifeAZ.org.
