LeBron James ejected after scuffle in Detroit

(KYMA, KECY/ CNN) - Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James was among two players ejected from a basketball game Sunday following a scuffle.

It started when James hit Detroit Pistons player Isaiah Stewart in the face during a rebound attempt after a free throw.

The contact drew blood and Stewart came after James several times as his fellow players and coaches had to hold him back for several minutes.

Officials ended up ejecting both players from the game. James has only been ejected from a game once before, which was in 2017 or comments he made to a referee.

Neither has commented on the incident, but James' teammate ANthony Davis asserts that the hit was accidental.

Sunday's game ended with the Lakers beating the Pistons 121 to 116.
