Central boys soccer edges Gila Ridge!

2nd half surge gives Spartans the 1 goal victory

Central's Brandon Lua leading a 1st half Spartan transition.

An early season interstate contest went down in El Centro, as area powers Gila Ridge and Central would both give good tests to one another on a chilly early December night.

After falling into a 1-nil hole, the Hawks would rebound in the closing minutes of the 1st half; as Gadiel German put in the 2nd chance opportunity to tie the match at the halfway mark.

But Central would pick up it's stride in the 2nd half, outscoring their Yuma area opponent by a goal to come away with the 3-2 victory.

This is Central's 1st win of the season, while Gila Ridge looks for it's 1st win as they try to pull it off at San Luis this coming Thursday night.
