Hawks look to continue making moves in the semifinals

The Gila Ridge Hawks shocked the 4A Division when they came from behind to knock out the #1 seeded Sahuaro Cougars on Friday; 28-21. The first half was difficult for the Hawks, as they started out a little slow offensively. But in the second half, they were able to pick it up; scoring 21 unanswered points.

Hawks wide receiver and linebacker, D'Angelo Jackson says it is all about "punching it in" early on and remaining consistent throughout the game. Head Coach of the Hawks, Jae Ellegood also agrees that 1st halves have been a little shaky for the team in the past few games, but what stands out most is their resiliency, allowing Gila Ridge to put together strong finishes.

They now look to face the #4 seed Desert Edge and hope to get to the championship game.

Already making playoff history, if the Hawks make it to the championship game, then it will be their first time as a program.

The Hawks face Desert Edge on Friday, November 22 at Buckeye High School at 7 pm Mountain time.
