Vulture releases list of 100 most powerful directors in Hollywood

(CBS, KYMA) - Vulture has released a new list of the 100 most powerful directors in Hollywood.

The top five includes powerhouse names people expect: Quentin Tarantino, Greta Gerwig, Denis Villeneuve, Ryan Coogler and, at the very top, Christopher Nolan.

Vulture says, "He's never lost momentum, never struggled, never stumbled. Nolan, who directed 'The Odyssey,' 'The Dark Knight Rises,' and 'Oppenheimer,' offers prestige and populism, intellectual oomph and global appeal. He wants his movies to be as big as possible."

It's worth noting that there are very few women who made the list, with only nine and only one in the top ten: Greta Gerwig, who directed 2023's "Barbie."
