Taylor Swift files to trademark her voice and likeness

(NBC, KYMA) - Taylor Swift has filed a request to trademark her voice and likeness to protect her identity in the AI era.

She filed three applications with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Two are tied to sound trademarks covering her voice with the sayings, "Hey, it's Taylor Swift" and "Hey, it's Taylor."

The other is a visual trademark showing the image of Swift on stage holding a pink guitar.

Swift is the latest celebrity taking action against unauthorized use of voice and likeness. Actor Matthew McConaughey was granted eight trademarks last year.
