Sierra County Elephant Fire continues to burn

(NBC, KYMA) - The Elephant Fire burning in California's Sierra County was 4,484 acres and 0% contained on Saturday night, according to Cal Fire Incidents.

Fire crews in Sierra County are working to contain a fire they say is burning at a rapid rate.

The U.S. Forest Service said the Elephant Fire began burning east of Loyalton and is moving through the 2020 Loyalton fire scar.

Evacuation warnings are still in place for some communities in the area, including in Lassen County.

So far no structures are under threat and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
