NYPD officers shoot woman while responding to a stabbing in Queens

NEW YORK CITY (NBC, KYMA) - NYPD officers shot a woman while responding to a stabbing incident inside a Queens home Friday night.

This all unfolded following reports of a home invasion and stabbing.

Officials say at the scene a man inside the home told officers he'd been stabbed.

A woman on the third floor of the home threw a set of keys to the officer, allowing them to gain entry.

Inside, officers found three people, two men and a woman, involved in a struggle and issued commands for everyone to raise their hands.

Officials say the two men complied but the woman moved toward officers with a knife in her hand.

One of the officers shot her and she was taken to the hospital, along with three men from the home who suffered stab wounds.

Police recovered two knives at the scene and an investigation is ongoing.
