Impressive implosion of an 18-story glass tower in Atlanta

CHAMBLEE, Ga. (NBC, KYMA) - An 18-story glass tower located in the Atlanta suburb of Chamblee is no more.

The building came tumbling down Saturday around 7:45. In a matter of seconds it was safely on the ground, with plumes of dust filling the air.

Atlas Demolition conducting the implosion as residents gathered to watch in a nearby parking lot.

The tower was once home to the Georgia Department of Revenue.

But has been vacant since early 2025, when the agency moved its headquarters to a more modern facility a few miles away.

There is no word yet on future development plans for the property.
