9/11 Memorial Stair Climb at Truist Park

ATLANTA, Ga. (NBC, KYMA) - A special 9/11 remembrance took place in Atlanta Saturday.

Hundreds of participants turned out at Truist Park for the annual Patriot Day 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb.

The event, marking the 25th anniversary of the terrorist attacks, is hosted by the Atlanta braves, and the Terry Farrell Firefighters Association.

The challenge is to climb more than 2,000 steps, to match the height of the 110 floors of the World Trade Center's Twin Towers.

Among the participants, firefighters from across the country, and even the United Kingdom, all remembering that fateful day with each step.

Honoring the 343 FDNY firefighters and first responders who made the ultimate sacrifice.
