Colorado students walk out of schools to protest ICE immigration enforcement

DENVER, Colo. (NBC, KYMA) - Hundreds of students across Colorado walked out of school Friday in a planned protest against Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

Walkouts happened in multiple districts across the state. In Denver, students from multiple schools gathered at La Alma Park to protest ICE.

Organizers say more than 180 Colorado schools planned to walked out at noon on Friday.

Students who gathered at the park had this to say about taking a stance against ice…

"A lot of people won't say anything so to see people my age and younger than me to come out and say something it's definitely like I feel like it's also very inspirational for others to be like well they're speaking out and they're younger than me, so why can't I speak out?" said student Jalen De La Rosa.

Students from Cherry Creek walked out of school but remained on property during the protest.
