Jake Lang arrested at Minneapolis protest

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (NBC, KYMA) - Minneapolis police arrested far right extremist Jake Lang and others on probable cause riot after driving onto a sidewalk near city hall Saturday morning.

Police say the incident happened just before noon when Lang arrived in one of two vehicles traveling in his entourage.

This as a crowd had gathered outside city hall for a planned rally.

Officers tracked both vehicles after they left the area, stopping one a short distance away, and the other in Bloomington.

Police say all occupants of the vehicles were arrested and are facing probable cause riot charges.

The incident immediately prompted counter protests and clashes with police, with additional arrests.

City leaders held a briefing to address the situation.
