Weather Authority/ KYMA

Temperatures will continue to trend warmer than normal for the next few days. We will also have gustier conditions come the weekend. But we are in for cooler temperatures early next week.

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA-TV)- An Air Quality Alert (Ozone High Pollution Advisory) is in effect for parts of Yuma County until 9 pm TONIGHT due to high ozone levels.

This means that forecast weather conditions combined with existing ozone levels are to pose a health risk. And ozone in the air can cause difficulties with breathing for children or anyone with respiratory problems.

There's also an Air Quality Alert for parts of Imperial County issued for Friday due to high high ozone levels as well.

In the hours ahead, temperatures will slowly cool down, but still going to stay warm, but we do have some relief with overnight lows dipping down into the mid 60s by the morning.

Great weather to spend some time on the patio.

A ridge of high pressure continues to stay further east, but it will still keep the Desert Southwest warmer than normal with lots of sunshine and dry conditions.

Tracking an incoming low toward the north bring in gustier winds this weekend and cooler temperatures to the Desert Southwest.

It will also be a little breezy as we have winds coming from the west/southwest for the rest of the week. More of the winds will favor in Imperial County around dinner time. Gusts will be between 15-30 MPH.

Take a look at our Furturetrack hour-by-hour wind gusts for Friday. Tracking breezy and windy conditions this weekend.

Due to the gustier winds on the way for the weekend, there's a Wind Advisory issued for the southwest corner of Imperial County for 2 pm Saturday through 11 pm Sunday for strong southwest winds and gusts up to 55 MPH.

Lots of sunshine will be sticking around with temperatures warming back to the triple digits for Friday and Saturday. It will also be breezy for the rest of the week and at the start of the weekend.

I am finally tracking cooler temperatures by early next week.
