FIRST ALERT ACTION DAY: Tracking gusty winds and dust through Friday afternoon
It's been a breezy and windy day, with more winds expected for Friday along with chillier temperatures. Tracking calmer and warmer days on the way.
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA-TV)- A Weather Authority First Alert Action Day is in effect through Friday afternoon due to gusty winds and blowing dust, which can lead to travel concerns and unhealthy air quality.

It's been a pretty breezy and windy day. And these winds will continue for the Desert Southwest with gusts between 20-35 MPH through tonight.
These will be coming from the north northwest, and dusty conditions could be possible.

A Wind Advisory is in effect through noon Friday for parts of Imperial County.
This is for northwest winds with gusts up to 45 MPH.

More winds will be expected tomorrow with gusts ranging between 20-35 MPH. Higher gusts are possible for some areas.
Winds will stay pretty gusty through the afternoon hours with winds beginning to calm by Friday evening.

As a lower-pressure system continues to work it's way through the region it is the reason for the ongoing gusty winds and the chillier temperatures.

It will be a pretty cold tomorrow morning with overnight lows in the low 40s and even mid to upper 30s. Bundle up and stay warm.

A Weather Authority First Alert Action Day will stay in effect through Friday afternoon, as it will stay gusty and dusty across the Desert Southwest. We do have chillier and cooler than normal temperatures for Friday as well. Calmer winds and nice temperatures will be with us for the weekend ahead.
We will continue to have lots of sunshine and drier conditions for the next several days, but we do have unseasonable temperatures coming next week with highs trending in the 80s.

LOOKING AHEAD: We do have possible freezing temperatures for parts of the Desert Southwest this weekend.
A Freeze WARNING is issued for Saturday morning for parts of La Paz County, and it does include Quartzite due to sub-freezing temperatures in the low 30s. Remember to take care of the 4 P's and stay warm.
