Tracking gustier winds Thursday and Friday for the Desert Southwest
A lower-pressure system has arrived, which is the reason for light showers. I am tracking drier conditions for the rest of the week with more sunshine and gustier winds taking over.
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA-TV)- Happy Wednesday! It's a cloudy day with cool temperatures and light showers this afternoon.

The rest of the Desert Southwest isn't under any wind alerts as of now.

Winds will be picking up Thursday afternoon for the Desert Southwest with gusts between 20-35 MPH. Â Stronger winds will favor toward the west. These will be coming from the north northwest, and dusty conditions could be possible.

Breezy and windy conditions will continue into our Friday as well.

Tracking clearer skies and more sunshine starting Thursday, and for the next several days. Daytime highs will also be trending cool through the work week with cold overnights.
We do have a pretty big warm-up on the way as we will warm into the upper 70s and 80s next week.

LOOKING AHEAD: We do have possible freezing temperatures for parts of the Desert Southwest this weekend.
A Freeze WATCH is issued for Sunday morning for parts of La Paz County, and it does include Quartzite due to lows reaching the low 30s and upper 20s. Remember to take care of the 4 P's and stay warm.
