FIRST ALERT: Tracking rain chances by the middle of the week

We have cloudy skies and rain chances by the middle of the week. I am tracking more sunshine and stronger winds later this week.

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA) - It's been a cloudy day, and those clouds will be sticking around this evening.

There are slight rain chances Tuesday night for Imperial County, but were are looking to stay dry for now with colder temperatures.

A lower pressure system moves in by the middle of the week bringing in chance for showers and slightly cooler temperatures to the region.

We could see light to moderate showers for parts of the Desert Southwest starting Wednesday morning through the afternoon. Right now showers are favoring in Yuma County and off toward the east.

Not every location will see rain, but those who do could have rain totals between a tenth of inch or less for some parts of the Desert Southwest. However, our current model is showing higher amounts for Yuma County.

We will have cloudy skies and rain chances for Wednesday. I am issuing a Weather Authority First Alert to keep us alert and if we needed we will transition into a Weather Authority First Alert Action Day due to the wet weather on Wednesday.

Then I am finally tracking more sunshine and gustier conditions later this week. Heads up! We do have a pretty big warm-up on the way come next week where temperatures will be trending well above-normal.
