FIRST ALERT ACTION DAY: Tracking showers and flooding through tonight
Storm system three has arrived, and it's bringing on-and-off widespread showers and flooding to the Desert Southwest through tonight. Also, tracking more showers for Saturday.
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA) - Our third lower pressure system is here and is bringing cold and wet weather to the Desert Southwest today and even for Saturday.

A Weather Authority First Alert Action Day is in effect for the Desert Southwest due to the wet weather and flooding throughout the day today.
I am also EXTENDING our Weather Authority First Alert Action Day through Saturday afternoon due to more shower activity.

New DAILY RAIN RECORD BROKEN!!!!!! From today’s rainfall so far, 0.96" was recorded in Yuma, which beats the daily record of 0.33" that was set back in 2013.

With today ongoing showers that occurred all day brought some measurable rain for both Yuma and Imperial Counties. Take a look.

Today was also pretty chilly/cold with well below normal temperatures as we had highs in the low 60s and upper 50s. This is 12-18 degrees below normal for this time of year.

Our current lower pressure system will move north east by tomorrow, but we still will get shower activity with well below normal temperatures.

Looking ahead to tomorrow, expected shower activity will continue into our Saturday mainly during the morning and afternoon hours.

The showers we get tomorrow rain totals are looking a tenth to a quarter of an inch.

Showers will be likely through Saturday afternoon, so a Weather Authority First Alert Action Day will remain in place through tomorrow afternoon. Also, daytime highs will be staying in the 60s for Saturday too.
Temperatures will begin to warm with drier conditions and more sunshine starting early next week. Thanksgiving is looking to be warm and pleasant. But overnight lows will consistently stay pretty cold.
