YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA) - I am tracking a low-pressure and cold weather system that is moving in today and is brining in significant weather changes to our area.

A Weather Authority First Alert Action Day is in effect through Saturday night for the Desert Southwest.
Tracking widespread showers where heavy rainfall, gusty winds, and flooding could be possible.

We could starting seeing showers as early as tonight, but it is looking to be light.

More widespread rain and the wettest day with heavier rainfall will be on Saturday morning through Saturday night.
Moderate to heavy rain will be possible along with slight chances for thunderstorms to develop.

Rain totals between Friday and early Sunday morning as of right now are estimating up to half an inch and more for some areas.

Weather Authority First Alert Action Day will remain in place due to the active showers through Saturday night. More showers is still possible for Sunday and throughout next week. Stay tuned!
Also, get your sweaters and jackets ready because we have chillier temperatures on the way. We can have daytime highs dip into the upper 60s with lows in the upper 40s next week.
