FIRST ALERT: Tracking tropical moisture to bring showers Thursday and Friday
Tracking remnants from Tropical storm Priscilla to bring showers and possible flooding on Thursday and Friday to the Desert Southwest. A Weather Authority First Alert Action Day and a flood watch are issued.
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA) - As of this morning, Priscilla has downgraded into a Category 1 hurricane with sustained winds of 75 MPH. And as of now, Priscilla is back to a tropical storm and will continue to weaken for the rest of the week.
Looking at Priscilla's path, it is currently showing that the storm is moving northward toward the Desert Southwest, which means it won't make landfall in Arizona, but we are expected to get remnants from Priscilla later this week.

I am issuing a Weather Authority First Alert ACTION DAYS for the active showers and possible flooding for Thursday and Friday for the Desert Southwest.

This surge of moisture from Tropical Storm Priscilla is expected to bring widespread and scattered showers starting on Thursday. The most active days for the Desert Southwest are looking like Thursday and Friday.

A Flood WATCH is issued for the Desert Southwest starting at 12 pm Thursday through midnight on Friday.
Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone areas. Remember to TURN AROUND, DON'T DROWN.

We may start to see some spotty showers early Thursday morning, but the best opportunities to see more scattered and widespread showers are Thursday evening through late Friday night.

On and off showers will be possible through Friday night.

Right now, rain totals for our area are looking a tenth to a quarter of an inch, with higher amounts in thunderstorms. However, it's being forecasted that rain totals on the high end could range 1.00-2.00".

Tracking wet weather Thursday and Friday for the Desert Southwest with slight rain chances into early next week.
We will have more sunshine and cool temperatures to look forward to next week.
