FIRST ALERT ACTION DAY: Tracking gustier winds and cooler temperatures
A lower pressure system arrives today, bringing in gustier winds and cooler temperatures to start the week. Gustier winds and dust will favor more in Imperial County with Wind Advisories in effect.
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY-TV) - Temperatures will cool through the middle of the week as a dry weather system moves into the region.
This weather disturbance will also bring gusty winds today through Tuesday.

With the strong west winds and dust I am issuing a Weather Authority First Alert Action Day through Tuesday night for Imperial County.
Yuma County currently isn't under any alerts, but we will still be breezy and windy at times, with hazy skies and unhealthy air quality being a concern.

Gustier winds and dust will take over this evening with winds coming from the west and northwest and gusts between 30-45 MPH. Strogner winds and dust will favor in Imperial County.

A Wind Advisory is now in effect for Imperial Valley and El Centro until 2 a.m. Wednesday for gusts up to 45 MPH and blowing dust.
A Wind Advisory is in effect until 5 a.m. Wednesday for the southwest corner of Imperial County for gusts up to 55 MPH.

More winds will continue for Tuesday with slightly gustier winds of 30-45 MPH. Winds will begin to decrease after midnight, but stay gusty further west through Wednesday morning.

Gusty and dusty conditions will continue through Tuesday and we will also feel noticeably cooler as our temperatures will drop into the mid and upper 80s for the next few days. A First Alert Action Day also staying in effect through Tuesday night for Imperial County.
Temperatures should slowly warm back up during the latter half of the week eventually hovering around the seasonal normals.
