YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Gadsden Elementary School District #32 received an award Thursday in recognition of student success and educator effectiveness.

The National Institute for Excellence in Teaching (NIET) awarded $50,000 to the school district, praising them their commitment to education.

"This award is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our teachers, staff, and students. We are committed to providing high-quality education, and this support from NIET will help us continue to invest in our educators and, ultimately, our students' success," said District Superintendent Lizette Esparza.

An assembly was held where the district received a check, and speeches were made highlighting the effectiveness of teaching.
