Excessive Heat will return with slight rain chances in the forecast

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY-TV) - To kick off the week temperatures are slightly cooler than what we felt last week, but still trending above our seasonal average of 107-108 degrees.

Overnight lows will remain warm as triple-digits will stretch into the late tonight.

The subtropical high pressure will continue to remain unseasonably strong through the middle of this week, allowing near record to record hot temperatures to continue for some areas in our region.

An Excessive Heat Warning goes back into effect Tuesday morning until Thursday evening for the entire Desert Southwest.

Isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms will be possible through the remainder of this week, mainly the greatest rain chances are looking in Yuma from Thursday to Sunday.
