Local Ashley Furniture HomeStore donates ten beds to Crossroads Mission Family Shelter

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) -  As the holidays come to a close, one local business offered a helping hand to some local families who needed a little boost.

Yuma’s local Ashley Homestore is donating these beds to 10 children on need at the Crossroads Mission Family Shelter.

The children staying at the shelter received new mattresses with a bed frame and comforter, bringing some joy to their lives during the holiday season.
“I got a cat and a new bed. I like the people here,” said Elena Beanblossom, a Crossroads Mission Family Shelter Resident.

Ashley Homestore says giving back to the Yuma Community something they do, any chance they get.
“Having a goodnight sleep is very important for us and we just like to give back, they like to give back, a little bit of what the community gives us,” said Edgar Olea, Ashley Homestore sales consultant.

The store adds that this is an annual tradition that they look forward to every year.

The kids came into the furniture store and got to pick which bed they wanted.

And Crossroads says they are grateful for Ashley’s donation and the kids are excited to sleep their new beds.
“I would like to say thank you and I appreciate it because they are obviously very happy, but yes it is a nice gift," said Stephanie Ornelas, Crossroads Family Shelter case manager.
