Brawley Elementary School District

BRAWLEY, Calif. (KYMA, KECY) - The Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Leadership Team from Brawley is being recognized by the California Department of Education's as winners of the California Pivotal Practice (CAPP) Award Program.

The CAPP Award Program celebrates schools that were innovative during the 2020-2021 school year while California was experiencing the COVID-19 pandemic.

“The California Pivotal Practice Award is testament to the dedication and student-centered philosophy of the SEL Leadership Team here at Brawley Elementary School District. Without a doubt, they came together and provided much needed support and guidance to our students and families during the pandemic. Once we returned to in-person instruction their dedication did not stop, and they continue to work daily to find new and innovative ways to support the mental health and social emotional wellbeing of our school community. We are very proud of them and the work they do to support BESD," stated BESD Superintendent Rauna Fox.
