Illegal drugs, firearms found in San Luis home
SAN LUIS, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Arizona Department of Safety (AZDPS) says two people were arrested in the same day for having fentanyl pills and one one of the suspect's homes was found to have meth, along with several firearms.
On July 13, a Toyota RAV4 was stopped near milepost 21 in Wellton, when an AZDPS trooper noticed signs of criminal activity (no specific indicators were mentioned in the press release).
The trooper found nearly 12 pounds of fentanyl pills and the driver, 28-year-old Laura Yancel Robles, was booked into Yuma County Jail.
Later in the day, a search warrant was served on the home of 29-year-old Carlos Ramirez-Gutierrez.
Detectives found the following in the home:
- Approximately 2.1 pounds of methamphetamine
- Approximately 1.18 pounds of fentanyl pills
- Approximately 2.08 pounds of fentanyl powder
- Approximately 1.18 pounds of unknown powder
- 2 high-capacity rifles
- 6 handguns
- 2 firearm suppressors
- Magazines
- Ammunition
- 1 BB replica rifle
- Two vehicles
- $2,436 in U.S. currency
Ramirez-Gutierrez was also booked into the Yuma County Jail with charges of possessing illegal drugs, money laundering and conspiracy.
