Suspect arrested in Yuma for defrauding victim out of nearly $800k

Victim loses thousands of dollars to fraud

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Yuma County Sheriff's Office says a suspect has been caught who allegedly defrauded a victim out of about $775,000.

The suspect is said to have been involved with a cash and crypto currency incident with false promises of a business start-up, and used the funds for luxury items such as an exotic vehicle.

On Thursday, April 28, investigators from local agencies used a warrant to search through the suspect's home and business, which lead to the suspect's arrest.

The suspect was booked for Fraudulent Schemes, Theft and Money Laundering.
