Multiple fires in Calexico grow rapidly, potential arson not ruled out

CALEXICO, Calif. (KYMA, KECY) - The Calexico and Imperial County Fire Department responded to two small brush fires Monday evening, which quickly turned into four.

It happened near Cole and Sunset Blvd.

The Calexico Fire Department says it took more than three hours for crews to contain the flames, using approximately 3,000 gallons of water.

Recent incidents lead officials to believe this is an act of arson.

At this hour, there are no suspects.
