Tracking warmer into Labor Day, continued cloudy conditions

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA) - The Labor Day holiday weekend is winding down, with another warm but relatively quiet day ahead across Yuma and Imperial Counties.

Yuma will see mostly cloudy skies Sunday, with temperatures climbing to around 104°F. Breezy conditions are also expected, with winds between 5 and 15 mph and gusts reaching up to 25 mph.

Sunday night will be partly cloudy, with a low around 84°F and winds continuing.

For those wrapping up the holiday weekend on Labor Day Monday, temperatures will warm slightly.

Yuma is forecast to reach around 106°F under sunny skies, with winds between 5 and 10 mph and gusts up to 20 mph.

In El Centro, Sunday will bring partly sunny skies and a high near 100°F. Winds will be breezy, reaching 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph.

Temperatures will fall to around 81°F Sunday night before El Centro warms to about 105°F on Labor Day Monday. Skies will remain sunny, with northwest winds between 5 and 10 mph.

Rain chances remain minimal through the holiday weekend as a plume of moisture moves across portions of southeast California and southwest Arizona. Most of the region is expected to stay dry.

After Labor Day, temperatures will warm to slightly above normal, with mostly dry and quiet conditions expected through the first part of the week.

However, that could change later in the week, with increasing chances for thunderstorms as more moisture returns to the region.
