Murder of Imperial mother leads to daughters suicide

EL CENTRO, Calif. (KYMA, KECY) - A 20-year-old girl whose mother was murdered, took her own life earlier this month.

The California Highway Patrol found 20-year-old Salma Vega was found dead under the Pine Valley Bridge near Interstate 8.

The family says Vegas mother, Rose Jamie Campos, was murdered last October and an arrest has yet to be made. Isabel Reyna is Campos's sister and says they are scared for their lives.

"We are scared the suspect is still out there, we have security at our house, but we believe enough time has passed, we do not understand why no arrest has been done," she said.

Reyna says Campos's daughter Salma fell to depression after losing her mother in such a tragic way, and decided to take her own life.
