Wanted suspect arrested after attempting to escape YCSO deputies

One arrested after being knocked down by less than lethal weapon

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - On Wednesday, the Yuma County Sheriff's Office (YCSO) says deputies arrested a man who attempted to flee in a stolen vehicle.

At about 12:21 a.m., deputies were called in about a report of someone trespassing at a Taco Bell on S. Commercial Centre Loop.

The man left the area after being told to but was then found to be driving a stolen vehicle and was a wanted suspect.

Deputies corned the vehicle when the suspect stepped out and tried to get back in.

However, he fell down after being struck by a 'Super Sock' round from YCSO deputies.

Carlos Chin, 34, was arrested and taken to the Yuma County Detention Center.

Anyone with information about this case may contact the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office at 928-783-4427 or 78-CRIME to remain anonymous.
