San Luis stabbing suspect deemed mentally competent to stand trial

SAN LUIS, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - A mental evaluation has deemed a San Luis man competent to stand trial.

Marcos Rubio Diaz was allegedly caught stabbing a woman with a large kitchen knife.

She miraculously survived.

Diaz is being charged with attempted first degree murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

The state is also working on a possible plea agreement, but they will need more time to draft it up.
