CAUGHT ON CAMERA: Robbery suspects disguised as police follow victims home

Footage has gone viral bring much attention to the investigation

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (KYMA, KECY/CNN) - A recording captured through a Ring doorbell camera shows the exact moment suspected police impersonators took advantage of three victims entering their home.

The video, which went viral on social media, is now part of an investigation. Footage from the follow-home robbery reveals three people on their home's front porch.

All of a sudden, a suspect comes up to them and starts patting them down. A second, armed suspect then enters with a pistol.

As the pat downs continue, a suspect punches one of the victims in the face. Another suspects punches that same victim right after.

The suspects are clearly seen wearing windbreakers which say “police” on the back.

Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) Investigators do not currently know how much the suspected robbers were able to get away with.
