Culinary programs intends to use funds for classrooms

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Yuma High School's culinary arts program was awarded two grants from the Arizona Pork Council and Arizona Beef Council.

The Pork in the Classroom and Beef Up the Classroom grants from the councils are each worth $100.

They're used to encourage students to learn about production and recipes using pork and beef.

“We are excited,” YHS culinary teacher Jaclyn Hill expressed. “Students plan to partner with Yuma High’s FFA (Future Farmers of America) to provide a ‘farm to table’ teacher and staff luncheon. We will be hosting the luncheon with donations from local farmers and the grants that were received.”

Both councils offer resources for teachers and also require a report to learn about the funds were used for the classroom.
