AWC offers more than just financial aid to prospective students

Reg Fest 2021 helps pupils transition into college with valuable resources

SOMERTON, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Arizona Western College (AWC) is hosting Reg Fest 2021 in its Somerton Center at 1011 N. Somerton Ave. Tuesday evening from 4:30 - 8:30. The main goal: helping students transition from high school to college with valuable resources.

At Reg Fest 2021, scholars start their journey by focussing on admission to AWC, understanding what requirements may be necessary, joining a conversation offering advice and finishing with an application for support services. Attendees should walk away fully registered for the Fall 2021 semester by the time they leave.

"If they want to walk around the information fair to get that scholarship information that transfer information for any of the three state universities, we'll give them all of that and then they can talk to the team of academic advisers that we have available for them to register for classes," said Susanna Zambrano, associate dean for south county at AWC.

AWC emphasizes it's never too late to find your passion.

"I just want to let students know that you're never too young or too old to start the process," Zambrano explained. "It's not too late or too early to do it, and most importantly, that it's like never too late to change your career goal, start a new one."
