Phoenix man arrested after being accused of participating in U.S. Capitol riot

CNN

PHOENIX (KYMA, KECY) - Police arrested a Phoenix man after being accused of participating in the attack on the U.S. Capitol on January 6.

AzFamily reported Micajah Joel Jackson was amongst the crowds of former President Donald Trump supporters and participated in stomping into the Capitol while Members of the House-Senate were certifying the vote of the Electoral College for last year's presidential election.

Police said they were able to track Jackson down by videos posted on Instagram. Adding Jackson had taken videos of himself breaching into the building after the crowd smashed doors and windows to get inside.

They say Jackson also uploaded videos to his other social media accounts. On March 24, Jackson was questioned by police and said he had gone to the rally and was given an orange band on his arm from the Proud Boys. However, he claimed he wasn't part of the Proud Boys.

Jackson self surrendered Tuesday and faces charges for entering a restricted building to impede or disrupt the government business or engage in disruptive conduct in any of the Capitol buildings.
